Kellie Carbone - Current Parent, Business Woman & Bespoke Stylist

Kellie is the manager of Carbone Master Tailors; a family business that creates tailored garments, handcrafted to perfection. Kellie has 25 years of experience in styling ladies and gentlemen in luxurious bespoke tailored clothes. With her expertise highly sort, she guides clients in the selection of tailored outfits that compliment the figure and are ideal for their requirements.

Her husband Dominic is a true master of his craft, which is the reason why those seeking individually designed garments that express sartorial style and quality seek his service. All Carbone tailoring is created in-house to ensure an un-rivalled customer service and exceptional quality.

Dominic’s father migrated to Australia in 1949 and began Carbone Master Tailors in 1954.  Dominic has been working in the family business full time since 15 years old and learning the craft since the age of 7. Surrounded by the tailoring world from his father and through self taught discipline he notes he is continually developing new skills.

When Kellie met and married Dominic, she already had an interest in the Arts and Design world and at the time was freelancing as a graphic designer, so it was an easy choice to make to join the family business.

Success

Carbone’s has been around for such  a lengthy time as they accommodate the luxury bespoke market.  They are known to produce well hand crafted garments of quality.

The fact that all fittings and tailoring is done in-house means the customer has an individual and well looked after experience when  they engage them.

Carbone’s offer a vast array of imported materials and there is an endless selection for the customer. Kellie says:  “one is only limited by the imagination”.

Carbone’s have the ability to service any client request and in fact have done everything from a tiny little boy of seven months up to whole weddings including groom, groomsmen, and fathers of the bride and groom.  They also specialise in business attire including womens wear as many women find it difficult to find a good quality, well fitted suit. They also do many ‘first suits’ whether these be for graduations, job interviews or first jobs.  It’s important boys are dressed appropriately for these milestone events. First impressions really do count.

Challenges

Kellie said that many retailers face immense challenges these days.  Online shopping has affected many industries and people have been well aware of this for many years. Moving forward there should be an importance placed on conscious shopping within all of us, young and old. Quality over quantity. From food to fashion to electrical, what we purchase should be given some thought.

The time required to create a luxury bespoke suit.  Carbone’s don’t do suits ‘off the rack” so a lot more time is put into each one…they are not competing with offshore cheap products.

As a general statement, men don’t like “going shopping” so they need to build up a relationship with the customer and provide a personal service.

Why Support Marcellin?

Kellie has been one of our most regular attendees at Business Network events over the years and she feels it is important to engage with like-minded people and to make connections on the business side.  It’s a chance to be social while still meeting people who may require Carbone’s services, and even though women tend to be in the minority at these events, Kellie said she always feels welcome.

Kellies son Giacomo is also the Marcellin College School Captain for 2020, so it’s great that she supports the network.
